Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to complain about one of your reports in yesterday`s edition of ”Times”. I would like to point out a number of inaccuracies in your article “Local Hero”, which describes an incident, involving my friend Lucy Hebden.

According to your article Lucy is a teenager, whereas in fact she is twenty - one years old. First of all, Lucy is not a first year student, in fact she is in her final year. Secondly, she left her friend`s party at 11:30 p. m., not at 2:30 a. m. As stated in your article, Lucy was subjected only to a torrent of verbal abuse. What actually happened was that one of the boys pulled out a knife. She did not know what was going to happen.

According to your article Tom Bradley told your newspaper about the details round the scene. Actually Lucy had to spend hours in the police station, giving statements. Furthermore Lucy Hebden provided (supplied) a description of the boys and the registration number of the boys` car, not this reluctant hero Tom Bradley.

I would be grateful if you would publish my letter in your next edition of the newspaper. Also you can correct all the inaccuracies and make an apology. I very much hope that in future you will do better.

Yours faithfully
...........
